From the time I first sat on a horse at age four in England, horses have been the constant thread running through my life. What began as the simple joy of riding has evolved into a lifelong pursuit of excellence, a passion that has carried me across the world, shaping me as a rider, trainer, and professional in this sport.
I began as a dedicated client and adult amateur, steadily growing through each stage until finding my calling as a professional. Along the way, I’ve pursued every opportunity to deepen my knowledge, refine my abilities, and strengthen my role as both a coach and manager. At the heart of it all is a deep respect for the extraordinary privilege of working in partnership with horses.
One of the greatest rewards of this journey has been the people I’ve met along the way. Supporting clients as they build trust with their horses, gain confidence, and achieve milestones—whether personal breakthroughs or appearances at Regionals and Nationals—has been an honour.
I approach every horse-and-rider partnership with a tailored perspective rooted in careful listening and an attentive mindset to the individuality of each combination. Through thoughtful guidance and a clear vision, I strive to help both horse and rider realize their fullest potential while preserving the integrity of their bond. Their joy and growth fuel my own, and I remain grateful for the trust they place in me.
I see my role as helping that partnership flourish, honouring the bond that makes this sport so extraordinary. To help horses and riders bring out the very best in one another, where discipline and dedication meet joy and discovery.

My daughter was riding a new horse, and Melanie did an incredible job of explaining the subtle differences in each horse’s sensitivities and how to better understand and communicate with them. Melanie's ability to engage with my daughter at her level, while still providing valuable insights, was truly impressive.

We enjoyed having Melanie so much to our facility. While we train and compete hunter jumpers, we find dressage based training very rewarding for both our horses and clients.
Melanie was able to personalize each session for the horse and rider combination. One session that particularly stuck out to me was a child that has been riding hunters for two years. Melanie had taught several intermediate and advanced adults before but was immediately able to switch gears and put the kid at ease. Every session was fun and educational.
